After much waiting, at long last the March 2021 SASSA SRD payment module has appeared and pending on the dashboard.
Since the extension of the SRD grant from February to April, February has been paid and most people have been paid whilst yet hundreds if not thousands to be paid.
Most of those yet to be paid are collecting their grant from the Post Office. The post office has made arrangements such that SRD recipients will now collect their grant using the last three digits of their ID on specific days.
Others are approved without pay dates for more than three months now, and it is strange why SASSA seems unconcerned and it is pathetic.
Others too have had their decline status reversed after applying for reconsideration. Most of the cases reversed also don’t have pay dates.
Another group of people struggling is those using the ewallet as payment option to collect their grant.
SASSA must a matter of urgency, should strive to speed up the payment efforts..
Meanwhile, the Minister of Social Development Department has hinted government commitment to introduce the basic income grant to give unemployed youth some form of financial support until they get employed.
